Was recommended Wolley by a friend who had his apartment elevator go out the day of the move and these guys carried everything up 5 flights of stairs and got the job done. I knew I had to use them for my move and they didn’t disappoint. Alden and his team are true professionals: quick efficient and effective. Very affordable as well. Highly recommend

Disappointing experience with Wolley Movers.
I had a nice first interaction with Denise over the phone. The setup was coordinated in a speedy manner. I was planning a long distance move, and she assured me that it would be the same truck arriving at the destination that would be used upon the initial loading. Denise on her own would have 5 stars. Unfortunately, there are more people involved in this operation.
On the day of the move, we were working with Robert and Alden. They are nice men, and have completed moves successfully before according to reviews, but there are feedback points I believe could help them with future moves. First, upon driving into the alley of our building, the driver of the truck hit a pole with the side mirror. Not the end of the world, but a small detail that could foreshadow the care I could expect my items to have.
We loaded our items in a timely manner which I appreciated. They did mention they usually have 3 men on the crew so one could watch the items being loaded, but that day they only had two. As they were finishing up with an office desk I was moving, one of the crew members let the desk fall and essentially slam on the ground of the moving truck. Witnessing that wasn't great. If that was something I watched directly, I imagined what the care was like for things that I wasn't present for.
Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was a completely new truck from the original one that was loaded. This was a direct contradiction to what Denise had told me over the phone, so I called and asked for an explanation. She told me that it was normal for long-distance moves to use rental trucks. I would have appreciated if that was told to me from the beginning, because I wasn't present for the exchange of my items from one truck to the other. Again, I tried to overlook this and wait to count the items once they were removed from the rental truck. (On a separate note, the driver managed to hit the side mirror of that truck into a wall also while backing up).
We were able to bring all the items in without much issue, minus our couch. It unfortunately didn't fit in the narrow pass of one hall in our apartment, but I don't blame the movers for it not fitting. We decided to place it in another area, where they helped take off the plastic wrap of the couch. I wasn't present when the plastic wrap was being taken off, because I was trying to help my girlfriend complete our move-in inventory form.
The move was completed and I was unable to look at all the items before the movers left. Unfortunately, later I noticed holes in our couch cover that didn't exist prior to the move. We suspect that this accident was probably caused by the knives the movers used to remove the plastic wrap, but this was not communicated to us. We contacted Denise, who was able to connect us with Norman, the owner.
Our experience with Norman was sadly, extremely disappointing.
He first told us the holes were made because of "narrow halls". That was clearly not how they were made. After speaking with my girlfriend over the phone, he offered to pay for a replacement cover and asked for links from the furniture company. We provided them, and Norman told us he spoke with a representative from the furniture company. They did not give him a quote at that moment, but no issue was present at this point regarding the replacement.
A few days later, we had a call where we said the quoted replacement price, and he became irate and refused to honor his previous word.
This was a direct figure from the furniture company. My girlfriend reiterated we weren't trying to be compensated for an entirely new couch, we just wanted to find a solution for the cover and for him to honor his word. His response? "See me in court." And he hung up.
I don't like writing these types of reviews, and I've never felt compelled to write one publicly before. Apparently, others have had pleasant experiences with the company. Sadly, I did not. I cannot recommend Wolley Movers to anyone on the grounds of how poorly we were treated.

Jonathan's crew was very professional and helpful and friendly. They went over and above to help me and exceeded my expectations. I strongly recommend them.

Andres anthony and Alden were superb at their jobs, a pleasure to work with and made my move stress free, I was able to take care of closing documents at my new apartment while they took complete care of my move from my old residence. Great piece of mind

The team was early, very efficient and polite. We had one singular cup break (which was probably my own fault by packing it poorly) and no scratches on...
