Superb Moving

Moved with them a year ago and an email asking me to hire them again reminded me to leave a review. Positive: Everything was moved safely and they were great at packing and organizing the truck. Negative: I was required to make an itemized moving list. I was overseas for the holidays and wrote from memory so forgot a lamp, the lightweight wicker headboard of my bed, and a set of ikea shelves-- 3/30 boxes and pieces of furniture that needed to be moved. Day of, I forgot about the list and was surprised when those items were left behind. I was given so much grief about them I gave up and ended up moving the three bulky (luckily not heavy) items. Being strict was one thing, but the team leader was also rude and sour as if I revealed an entire additional room that needed moving. I had great experiences with different companies the 4-5 previous times I moved or helped friends move in the last 10 years, so I felt comfortable just picking a random company from Google. Never again. Moving is stressful enough without having to negotiate with someone miserable. Besides being kinder and apologetic if they need to adhere so strictly to the list, I recommend that they update their approach and ask for photos/video of the rooms in addition to the list. How do other companies make it work?! I would not use superb again.

Please DO NOT! DO NOT! use Superb Moving, especially if you are a young woman. I never leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience. This was my first time moving to NYC. We drove across the country, packed up a minivan with boxes and some miscellaneous items (no big furniture, no assembly needed), and just needed a couple of movers for 1-2 hours to help us carry everything up a five-floor walk-up. The quote was affordable, so it seemed like a good choice. I made it clear from the very beginning exactly what the job would entail and that there would be no elevator. At first, all went well. The movers arrived on time and started helping. My dad had to return the rental car, leaving me alone with them. As soon as my dad left, one of the movers became aggressively confrontational about his tip. He was insistent that whatever I was going to tip was not enough, even though I had never discussed an amount with him. I felt extremely unsafe and I was worried my stuff was at risk. I ended up carrying a large amount of my stuff upstairs by myself because I was so concerned. I had to call my dad to come back because I was scared and he was being incredibly threatening and menacing. Funny enough, as soon as my dad came back, the mover didn't say another word to us about a tip. To be clear, we always intended to give AT LEAST 20% because that's the right thing to do. In the end, we tipped them even more than 20%, because it was a tough job and we appreciated the help. But the way I was treated by him, solely because I was a young woman, was completely unacceptable. I would not recommend this company to anyone, and I hope my experience helps other women avoid the same situation.

Although I initially reached out in advance to schedule the move, I hadn’t finalized the arrangements. I followed up on the morning of the move to check if it was still possible. Despite the last-minute follow-up, they accommodated me without any difficulty and (no extra or hidden fees). The movers were punctual, professional, and handled everything with great care. A special shoutout to George, who was truly incredible throughout the whole process—friendly, efficient, and committed to ensuring everything went smoothly. I couldn’t have asked for a better moving experience and highly recommend them for any moving needs!

I was extremely happy with the service end-to-end. The booking process was straightforward (no hidden fees!) and George from Sales was very responsive. On the moving day, Billy and the team arrived early and were very, very efficient with their job. The whole team really made my moving process much easier than what I had feared. Yes, the moving crew tend to expect higher tips than usual, but I was happy to give a generous amount since the quote was very reasonable (at lease 20% lower than other moving companies) and the service was phenomenal.
