Get to know Hoffman Estates, IL
Hoffman Estates is an upper middle class suburb northwest of Chicago. The village was incorporated in 1959, a year after the Northwest Tollway opened, attracting Chicago commuters. A staple in the community is the Prairie Stone Business Park, an ongoing project started in the 1990’s. It became home to Sears, Roebuck and Company in 1993 when it left its former headquarters at the Sears Tower. It has expanded more recently to include the Sears Centre arena, a Marriott hotel, and retail center, in addition to office buildings. The limited availability of undeveloped land has caused increasing rents, and the population of Hoffman Estates has experienced slow growth since the early 2000’s.
